Getting giddy with the giggles since 2012
WCB Comedy was born in a Facebook post in 2012 when Paul Dunn openly mused about putting on a comedy night in Lowestoft. The landlord of his local pub at the time, The Carlton, saw the post and invited him to arrange just that. With a borrowed PA and absolutely no clues WCB Comedy was born.
Now WCB Comedy puts on premier comedy shows with high profile acts across theatre venues in East Anglia and beyond.
About Paul
Founder and Director Paul Dunn wears several hats. With a professional background in Property Asset Management, he brings the business sensibilities that have served him well into the arena of Comedy Promotion, Booking, Theatre Direction and now Podcasting.
“Nurturing valuable and and enjoyable business relationships are a key part of our ethos. Nothing is possible without understanding that.”
Paul is a family guy who also loves spicy food, beer, comedy, music, football and marathon running.
About Ross
Ross Downes is key player in the WCB Comedy success helping Paul put on shows far and wide. Ross first became WCB Comedy’s most important wingman back in 2015 when Paul threw him on stage as a wild card on a line-up that included Sara Pascoe. The pair have been good friends and collaborators ever since.
Ross, now an offshore sales professional, is also an avid beer enthusiast, podcaster and self-confessed comedy fanboy who has an enviable collection of selfies with comics. Ross also very much enjoys travelling around the globe with his lovely wife.
Our Venue Partners
We have long standing relationships with many venues. Seckford Theatre at Woodbridge, Southwold Arts Centre, Dereham Memorial Hall and St Georges Theatre in Great Yarmouth are among our current major collaborators.
